Mind-Body
Connection: How It Works
You
are all powerful human beings and it is only the way
that you have been brought up and the taking in of
what society has taught you that has stopped you from
getting in touch with your inner power. Well the time
has come to realise your power. Below is some of the
substantial scientific evidence that exists today
that explains how your mind is connected to your body
and to why you are so powerful
Every Thought And Emotion That You Have Affects
Your Body
It has been scientifically proven that every time we have a thought certain
chemicals get released trough the body that are called Neuro-Peptides
(Pert, 1999, Chopra 1989). These Neuro-Peptides are than absorbed in
every organ of the body by what are called cell receptors, which also
located in every organ of the body. This means that every organ in our
body listens & takes in what you are thinking and feeling & this
in turn affects the healthy state of the organ, especially when you keep
have the same constant thoughts (be they positive or negative)

Examples Of How Your Body Reacts To
Your Thoughts/Emotions On A Daily Basis
Our minds connect to our bodies on a daily basis and we just do not
realise it as when we take it for granted. However when we do, we than
start to see how powerful our thoughts and emotions are & how they
affect the body. Below are examples common to all of us that illustrate
how our minds & bodies interact on a daily basis.
Blood
Flowing To The Head:
Whenever you get embarrassed, notice how you become
red in the face. What happens here is that you have
the thought that you feel embarrassed (after a particular
incident) and as soon as you have it blood starts
to flow to your face (to make it look red). This is
an example of how a simple thought creates a physical
movement in your body (by your blood flowing to your
head)
Heart
Beating Faster:
Whenever you get a fright & notice how
your heart starts to beat faster all of a sudden.
In this case you have the thought that you are scared
& immediately extra blood flows through your heart
to make it beat much faster.
Physical
Reactions Which Occur When You Are Stressed:
Next time you get or feel very stressed as a result of an incident
or a particular situation, watch for changes in your body or worsening
of a particular Condition (e.g. notice how you get a headache at
work when you get stressed, how you start to sweat if you are nervous)
Physical
Movements:
Every time you move a body part (e.g. arm, decide
to walk) you have a thought that precedes this movement
& commands it. This is the most obvious example
how your mind affects your body. You only move your
individual body parts once when you have a thought
that directs the body part to move.
The
Placebo Effect:
The
placebo effect occurs when you give a person a dummy
medicine (e.g. sugar pill) during a medical study
and the dummy medicine has the same affect on the
person as if they would taken te real medicine. This
affects occurs becacuse the person believes that the
dummy medicine is the real medication and it is this
belief that causes the body to behave in the same
way that it would if it had absorbed a real medication.
The placebo effect illustrates the power of our beliefs
when it comes having a direct affect on our bodies.
You Are Conscious Human Beings Which Means
That You Have The Power To Choose How You React To
Circumstances That Occur In Your Life And Whether
You Have Positive Or Negative Thoughts/Emotions To
These Certain Events.
You create and react to your reality by choosing which
thoughts/emotions you have to certain situations that
occur. These thoughts/emotions are based on your own
personal perceptions and it is these perceptions that
dictate how we cope with certain situations. A clear
example of this is how some people find a particular
piece of humor funny whilst other people find the
same piece of humor not funny at all. Another example
is how some people are able to overcome certain adverse
situations in their lives whilst other people are
not able to overcome these same circumstances. The
differences in these people is how they perceive these
same situations snd how they react to them. Remember,
what makes us happy or sad is not the events that
occur in our lives but how we personally react to
these events. Therefore you have the power to choose
which thoughts you have and how you react to things
that occur in your life.
You Have The Power To Overcome Any Type Of Adversity
Within every human being there is the capacity to
overcome any type of adversity using all the talents,
skills & willpower that we all have. What has
been achieved other great men/women in our history
can also be achieved by you.
